Buried in a capsule for posterity at the monument to Russian teacher in Makhachkala

Makhachkala is not very popular with tourists, many in the reviews advise not to visit it, but I did. And one of the most pleasant memories was visiting the monument to the Russian teacher at sunset.

Hello everyone, my name is Alexandra. I am sharing with you my impressions of the trip to Dagestan Hello everyone, my name is Alexandra. I am sharing with you my impressions of my trip to Dagestan

A monument to a Russian teacher was erected in Makhachkala in 2006 near the Ak-Gol lake. At the time of the opening, it was the first monument to a Russian teacher in the world, although it meant much more than it might seem.

You can hear that the monument was erected in honor of Russian teachers who came to Dagestan in the 20-30s of the past centuries and by their labor they carried enlightenment to the republic. Thanks to them, the peoples of Dagestan, who have different languages, have a common language that allows them to communicate with each other.

In fact, the monument bears gratitude to the Russian representatives of completely different professions who came to Dagestan, helping its formation: teachers, doctors, scientists, engineers, and just workers …

You can see pyramids in the composition of the monument, which symbolize mountains and craving for knowledge … In the center is the slender figure of a teacher holding a book in one hand and a globe in the other.

Appeal to descendants Dear friends, We, representatives of the beginning of the XXI century, appeal to you, our representatives of future generations, with instructions and best wishes. Our fathers and grandfathers, mothers and grandmothers lived a hard life in the 20th century, filled with two world wars, revolutionary upheavals, and the collapse of the Great Power. At all times, our close connection and friendship with the great Russian people helped us to overcome difficulties and hardships. It has deep historical roots from the time when Emperor Peter the Great arrived at the head of the fleet to the shores of the Caspian Sea and here, on the slope of Mount Tarki-Tau, founded Port-Petrovsk, the current city of Makhachkala. After the Great October Socialist Revolution, hundreds and thousands of representatives of the Russian people arrived in Dagestan, leaving their native places to help Dagestanis to overcome difficulties. Doctors and teachers, engineers and builders, industrialists and agrarians, ordinary workers and scientists came to us and put their shoulders under the common heavy burden. Thanks to their hard work, perseverance and perseverance, friendly participation and support, we were able to overcome the crisis together. They helped us educate several generations of modern people, teach a wide variety of professions, develop science and economics. Russian representatives have made a huge contribution to the construction of new cities and towns, their flourishing and transformation. […] We erected this memorial complex to the representatives of the Russian people as a sign of deep gratitude and gratitude to them. They are no longer just friends and neighbors for us. They are our close relatives, brothers and sisters. They are Dagestanis! […] We are deeply grateful to everyone who took part in the construction and opening of this memorial, and we bequeathed to our descendants to sacredly cherish, appreciate and enhance the great friendship and brotherhood of the Russian and Dagestan peoples.¹ < p class = "article- render__block article-render__block_unstyled" data-points = "4">After reading the appeal, it becomes clear that the monument was erected not just to individuals, but to the friendship and brotherhood of the Russian and Dagestani peoples.

This is a very pleasant message and now I understand why it was so calm and pleasant to be near this monument (as opposed to the tower in the mountains, where I felt awkward and a little sad²).
